Top 3 Winner in Ayodhya Development Authority Logo Design Competition
Professor Manish Arora achieved national recognition by securing a Top 3 position in the prestigious Ayodhya Development Authority Logo Design Competition, Uttar Pradesh, and was awarded a cash prize of ₹50,000 for his outstanding visual identity design proposal.
The logo was conceived as a comprehensive visual identity for Ayodhya, drawing inspiration from the city’s spiritual heritage, cultural significance, natural landscape, and future aspirations. The design successfully integrated traditional symbolism with contemporary design thinking to create a memorable and meaningful identity for one of India’s most sacred cities.
At the heart of the design is the Charan Paduka (sacred footprints) of Lord Rama, symbolizing devotion, spirituality, and the city’s deep connection with the Ramayana tradition. The composition also incorporates the Sun and Moon, representing harmony, continuity, and the balance of life.
The logo features seven lotus petals, reflecting Ayodhya’s status as one of the seven sacred cities of India and Lord Rama’s association with the Vaishnava tradition. The flowing circular form symbolizes the River Sarayu, while radiant sun rays signify enlightenment, hope, and the glorious Surya dynasty of Ayodhya.
A distinctive element of the visual identity is the inclusion of Ayodhya’s natural bow-shaped geographical landmark and the iconic Ram Mandir, represented in the traditional Nagara architectural style. The victory flag atop the temple symbolizes the triumph of good over evil and reflects the enduring values associated with the city.
The golden-yellow color palette was carefully selected to convey positivity, purity, royalty, and spiritual energy, while the clean line-based construction ensures adaptability across print, digital, signage, and civic branding applications.
This recognition highlights Professor Arora’s expertise in visual identity design, cultural branding, and strategic communication design. The award-winning proposal demonstrates how design can effectively communicate heritage, identity, and future vision through a single cohesive visual language.
